My Practice


Everything within my practice is used to simplify those relationships you have both internally (emotionally) and externally (physically).  As well as consciously and subconsciously.

Counselling


I am a Person Centred counsellor.  In Person Centred counselling the relationship between the counsellor and the client is paramount;  based on empathy, honesty and respect.  There are no gimmicks, no techniques or strategies.  A Person Centred counselling session provides the client with the time and space for them to talk about whatever might be on their mind.  And I do  mean "whatever".  I  will endeavour to listen, reflect and summarise in a completely non-judgemental manner.


As the relationship is so important to the success of the sessions, when a client initially makes contact I will always advise them to meet with several prospective counsellors.  Although we are all trained in Person Centred Counselling, as human beings we have to bring our personalities into our work and as such, just as in any other relationship, what suits one person might not suit another.


There is no agenda, no expectations, no right or wrong way and no rules except those agreed between the client and the counsellor, in the form of a contract. This will be discussed and agreed at the first full counselling session.


Person centred counselling provides the client with the opportunity to have a deep and meaningful relationship based on genuine warmth, respect and acceptance. Through such a relationship the client can gradually begin to explore difficult facets of their experience, which they are finding painful or challenging.

Visual Therapy


I may also introduce the ancient art of tarot guidance if the client so wishes or Parts Therapy.  I am a pictorial person and find that pictures help clients far more than words at times.  Cards help a client relate to a part of them that doesn't want to be seen.  These hidden aspects of ourselves lay dormant in our subconscious, until they are triggered and only then do we reveal our true selves.


Inner Child Therapy


If, in your daily life, you find yourself reacting instead of taking action, blaming instead of accepting responsibility, being stuck unable to move forward and generally feeling as if someone else is controlling your life and sabotaging your happiness.  Then it’s about time you sat down and had a deep and meaningful conversation with your inner-child, because he/she is the one who is definitely running the show!


Life Coaching & Guidance


Whilst Counselling is primarily about looking back at issues in your life, Life Coaching focuses on how to move forward. It could be that something happened in your past that is holding you back or you're feeling unfulfilled in some aspect of your life, but don't know how to make the necessary changes. As a qualified Life Coach I can combine my skills to help you overcome whatever may be hindering your progress. 


Hypnotherapy


Contrary to popular belief, hypnosis is not a state of deep sleep.  It does involve the induction of a trance-like condition, but when in it, the client is actually in an enhanced state of awareness, concentrating entirely on the hypnotist's voice.  In this state, the conscious mind is suppressed and the subconscious mind is revealed.


Conditions of all kinds can be helped under hypnosis.
